About the Mentor 🌱
Erin K. Arnold, Ph.D. is currently the Chair of the Biology department at Jefferson State Community College. She has been with the college for over 12 years, and enjoys teaching Introduction to Biology for non-majors, Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology. As an instructor she is continuously striving to create an equitable classroom environment and is proud of the fact that her department uses all open educational resources for each course offering, meaning that students have free access to course materials throughout the semester. Dr. Arnold also strives to make her courses engaging and relevant to her students and has recently published on using agar art to engage students in microbiology. She also is the faculty co-founder of Jeffstate Overseas, which provides travel abroad opportunities to students. This year she is leading a trip to Iceland!
